So what do you do if you’ve been given a break on the biggest story in the world and you’re not due on the air for more than three hours?

  1. Hmm...that's an interesting question. In my experience, in order to keep it a big story, you have to hold your hand. And I mean hold your hand. Do not Tweet it, do not put it on Facebook or any other social network. Three hours runs by quickly in the media...
    On the other hand, if your media house has a policy that allows for breaking the news first, via its website or social sites, then by all means...inform the world.
